About Us
My name is Gail Calwell, I am a HCPC (Health and Care Professionals Council) and BAAT (British Association of Art Therapists) registered Art Psychotherapist with 15 years of supervised clinical experience. I have extensive experience working withing the community and voluntary sector, both delivering therapeutic work, and also in various management roles. I hold a level 6 qualification in clinical supervision and have been supervising students and therapists/counsellors for the past 9 years.
What we do
I work with children, young people and adults on an individual basis as well as group contexts. I have experience of working within the school environment, community contexts, and delivering training to organisations/teams. My private practice is based on the Lisburn Road, however I can also on occasion offer eco-art therapy sessions in outdoor locations where appropriate. You can find more about this aspect of my work on the ecopsychology and ecotherapy association of Ireland membership page. https://www.eeai.ie/

I encourage a gentle and playful approach, evoking curiosity about oneself. I support clients with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, communication difficulties, suicidal thoughts and behaviours, self-harm, relationship/social concerns, anger, separation/divorce, low self-esteem and confidence.
I have a particular interest in neurodiversity and can adapt the sessions to reflect specific needs. I am also involved in the delivery of the MSc Art Psychotherapy training at the Ulster University.
